Inspected the proposed area on 06 01 2022 and 06 04 2022 The Proposed area falls under the Haladi Hiliyana block, Avarse block, Vandaru Block, Heggunje Block II Reserve Forest and 76th Halady, Avarse, 33th Shiruru, Billady, Shiriyar Village Deemed Forests. User agency requested for diversion of 17.49Ha. construction of Irrigation Main and Branch Canals under Varahi Lift Irrigation Scheme On inspection of the site, it is found that, the land required by the User agency is in Reserve Forest measures 10.80Ha. and in Deemed Forest measures 6.69Ha. The requirement of Reserve Forest area and Deemed Forest as proposed by the User agency in Col. 2 of Part I is unvoidable and it is a barest minimum requirement for the project. The User agency has to pay the NPV and also User agency hast to bear the cost of raising of CA plantation. The 17.49ha. of forest area is recommended for diversion

The user agency has applied for the Diversion of 17.49 Ha. of forest land in Kundapur Division of Udupi District for Construction of Irrigation Main and Branch Canals under Varahi Lift Irrigation Scheme. This project will serve the purpose of Drinking and Irrigation water through branch canals under Varahi Lift Irrigation Scheme which will help the surrounding villages and local people to grow more crops and uplift the economy to lead a healthy life. Hence this project is justified and recommended for diversion under Forest Conservation Act 1980 by paying the NPV and compensation to KCDC and cost of raising CA plantations.
