According to the new Sanctioned working plan the proposed area for diversion falls under Afforestation and JFPM Working circles.

The proposed area for diversion is slighly undulating and steep land. soil erosion occurs during heavy rainfall.

Ranebennur Blackbuck Sanctuary is located adjacent to the propoesd area for diversion activity. and also it lies wiyhin the ESZ of the protected area. Due to the diversion of the said land,free movement of wild animals may be restricted.

The proposed area for diversion will restrict the movement of the wild animals. the area as such does not bear any growth of the tree species. it is appears to be slopy andan un- productive land.

The layout of aqueduct is based on scientific alignment which is aimed to bring irrgation water to desired destination.It is essential and there is no alternative way to construct the same by acquiring public land.It is causing least damage to the flora and fauna of the locality.

The entire project of the USER AGENCY is to be treated as ONE PROJECT (even though the USER AGENCY has submitted four (4) different FC proposals in all for unknown reasons (three separate proposals for adjoining Ranebennur Wildlife Sanctuary earlier and the present one for Haveri Territorial Forest Division). Present proposal is already a part of earlier three proposals submitted by the USER AGENCY, wildlife opinion about which has already been submitted to the Chief Wildlife Warden, Karnataka.
