The proposal has been received from the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti PHE Department Ganderbal for diversion of 0.176 Ha of forest land for construction of Water Supply Scheme WSS Banjar Basti Bella Wussan. The area falls in Compartment 40/Mbl of Forest Range Wayil and is part of Protection Working Circle. The area has relatively less dense vegetation with the optimum density 30 40% and the crop constitute mainly of deodar species. Since the area to be diverted is very less, it may not have that much of profound impact on the wildlife as well as the flora. As such the project is recommended for diversion subject to the conditions as envisaged in the Site Inspection Report as well as in Part II 8. v of the application.
