Billawar Forest DivisionEast Circle JammuDFO RecommendedThough the proposed PMGSY road under consideration shall connect the remote villages Malhar and Marhoon, yet there is a strong case for not allowing the road to be constructed beyond village Malad the point where the said road shall intersect the pre existing PWD road that connects Malad with Katli . The main reseon for this being the fact that beyond Malad, the existing PWD roads already connect Malad with Marhoon via Kodi. Besides, avoiding the construction of the proposed road beyond Malad shall save the pristine Deodar forest, the perennial water sources and also the financiers of the Government exchequer. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the said case may be reviewed in light of the facts mentioned herein before and the construction of the said road be restricted to the point where the said road shall intersect the pre existing PWD road that connects Malad with Katli.
