Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion :
The proposed area for diversion falls in Chir Rehabilitation working circle, wherein the rehabilitation of the degraded forest area by protection of existing vegetation from various biotic and a biotic pressure aided by ANR measures and SMC activities is prescribed.

Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion :
The proposed area for diversion is a part of Shivalik hills and consists of Kandi formations which is prone to erosin

The proposed road is being extensively used by Army and civil traffic as shortest route from Dayalachack to Udhampur as it will be shorter by 5 kms when cmpar with NH 1A. Therefore, in view of the envisaged benefits of the project for the defence and civil uses it is recommended that the prpject may be granted the Stage 1 or In principal approval.
