8. Significance of the forest land proposed for diversion from wildlife point of view
 (i). Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion : Flora: The area of reserve is characterized by marked variation in topography, climate and altitude. As a result of which different types of vegetation occurs in the area. The broad leaved species are confined to the sides of nallahs and cooler, damp sides. Fir occurs in pure patches at places mixed with deodar and kail crop on moist pockets. The flora comprises of deodar, kail and fir etc. In deep shady nallahs broad leaved species like walnut, aesculu, prunus etc are found. The shrubs include vibarnum and berberis species. Fauna: The area of the Reserves is gifted with valuable and rich faunal assemblage like Leopard, Black Bear, Musk Deer and Goral etc. The common bird species are Monal Pheasant, Chakorpatridge, Bush quail, and Western tragopan etc. Moreover, area has presence of important flora and fauna including Himalayan Tahr (Karth) Hamitragusjemlabicus (Near Threatened category species/Schedule-1), Musk Deer (Kastura/Rauns) Moschusmoschifera (Endangered/Schedule 1), The Grey Himalayan Goral (Pijjar), Nemorhaedus goral (Near Threatened category species/Schedule-III), Serow (Urred) Nomoraedussumatrensis (Vulnerable/Schedule 1), The Barking Deer (Kakkar) Montiacusmontjak (Vulnerable Schedule I), Brown Bear (LalBhalu or reech), Ursosthibetanus (Least Concern/ Schedule 1), Common Leopard (Chitra), Pantherapardus (Vulnerable/ Schedule 1), Red fox Vulpusvulpusmontana (Least Concern Schedule IV), Himalayan Monal Pheasant (Neel) Lophophorusimpojanus (Least Concem/Schedule 1), Koklass pheasants (Ceriomismacrolophus), Western Tragopan (Mancheor), Tragopanmelanocephalus (Vulnerable/Schedule I), White-crested Khaleej Pheasant (Chamman),Lophuraleucomelanos (Least Concern/Schedule 1), Himalayan Griffon Vulture Gyps himalayensis (Near Threatened), Himalayn White Backed Vulture, Himalayan Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetosdephanea (Least Concern/Schedule I), Cheer Pheasant Catreuswallaichi (Vulnerable/Schedule 1).

5. Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion : Compartment No. 35a/D, 39/D, 40a/D, 40b/D, 44/D & 48/D under Fir Selection Working Circle Prescriptions proposed: • These areas shall be protected against the biotic pressure and supplemented with artificial regeneration. To promote natural regeneration the thick raw humus layer shall be removed reasonably. Compartment No.45a/D falls under Deodar/ Kail Working Circle Prescriptions proposed: • These forests shall be worked under the selection system. This is most important working circle, as the crop managed under it is highly valuable from economic point of view.
6. Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion : As the terrain is hilly, all possible preventive measures will have to be taken by the user agency for preventing the possibility of soil erosion.

Jammu WildlifeEast Circle JammuDFO Not-RecommendedSince, after initial 8 10 kms of the proposed road, which is passing through private land and forest area of Udhampur Forest Division as there is no permanent habitation in the area and the end point of the proposed road is not connecting any permanent habitation which has also been endorsed by the Executive Engineer, OMGSY Division Ramnagar User Agency vide office No. PMGSY/Drv/Rgr/4463 65 dated 28 02 2023. Moreover, terrain of the area is hilly having more than 70% slope. Thus the construction of a road in such a hilly terrain with having number of rare & endangered flora and fauna and having no permanent settlement/ habitation except movement of Kalaish pilgrims, nomads & grazers in summer for few months only may be deferred keeping in view the impacts it may impose on the ecology of the area.
East Circle JammuCF Not-RecommendedAs reported by Wildlife Warden Jammu, the terrain of the area 7.0425 Ha. is hilly having more than 70% slope and have number of rare & endangered flora and fauna. Also, the area of falls in Sudhmahadev Conservation Reserve having no permanent settlement / habitation.Yes
