(i).
Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
Himalayan Grey Goral (Nemorhaedus bedfordi). Other ungulates such as Nilgai (Boselaphus trangocamelus), barking deer (Muntiacus muntjak), Chital (Axis axis) and wild pig (Sus scrofa). Other faunal species include Mongoose (Herpestes edwardsii), Porcupine (Hystrix indica), Chital (Axis axis), Rhesus monkey, (Macaca mullata), Jackal (Canis aureus) and Hare (Lepus negricollis).

Whether forms part of national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve,tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc. :

No significant impact, as the major of the area under submergences lies on the eastern boundary of Thein Conservation Reserve

The Shahpurkandi Dam Project is a National project which is strategically and socio economically very important to the UT of J&K. Besides, providing the geo political strategic advantage in the form of much more effective utilization of water of the Ravi river, the project will also unleash the agricultural potential of the otherwise barren Kandi area. The Reservoir of the Shahpurkandi Dam project shall serve a good source of water for the Wildlife in Thein Conservation Reserve. The reservoir Shall provide a positive changes in microclimate of the area. On completion an Irrigation Potential of 32173 Ha. in J&K UT would be created. In additional to above, the Irrigation of about 1.18 Lakh Ha. area under UBDC system shall be stabilized. Therefore, keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that the project may be granted the Stage I or In Principle approval for Forest Clearance under the provisions Forest Conservation Act, 1980.
