5. Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion : Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion are coppice with standard system (CWS) and Rehabilitation and plantation cum-soil conservation working circle. In CWS system availability of both good quality and small timber trees is ensured by keeping enough number of mature trees and sufficient numbers of standards to keep forest in multi-strata condition by multiple coppice rotation of different species to assist natural regeneration. To improve stocking and quality of forest subsidiary silviculture operation like cleaning, thinning, climber cutting, fire protection activities, anti-grazing drive with soil and moisture conservation measures is carried out to tend and nurse growing stock. Tending of young crop is done on established silvicultural practices under strict supervision of senior officers. Every effort are made to regenerate such forests by protection with the active cooperation of VFMPCs. Artificial regeneration are resorted to in those areas where permanent blanks are more than 1.00 ha. and root stock is absent. In Rehabilitation working Circle the forest crop are stagnant in bushy stage (Sal rooted wastes) or perpetual sapling stage due to extremely adverse biotic factors like unregulated felling, grazing and forest fire. No felling has been prescribed under this Working Circle. Salvage felling of only dead. dying and diseased trees, thinning and singling of stock and cutting and resizing of deformed or pollarded root stock are permitted on sound silvicultural principles. The suitable areas are planted with suitable indigenous and valuable species. The edaphic and other local factor are kept in mind while deciding about the suitable species. These working circle include main operations namely contour trenching, Nala bunding, Check-dams and silt detention dams as per site requirement and approved by competent authority. Plantations of fast growing species are done to restock the blank areas where natural regeneration has failed to come up. At the same time steps are taken to reduce soil erosion by adopting soil and moisture conservation works along with planting of trees. Emphasis is given on conservation of water in forest areas by soil conservation and water harvesting structures, check dams, siltation dams, gully plugging, contour trenching etc.
6. Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion : Proposed Forest Area is vulnerable to soil erosion, gully erosion and in some part Ravines are also present inside the forest area proposed for the diversion.

Hazaribagh WestHazaribaghDFO Recommended The proposed site for construction of Transmission line was inspected on 11th. December, 2020 measuring an area of 24.8509 Ha. in the corresponding villages Dumardih, Karrso, Katiaun, Khonraahar, Goriakarma, Kharaun in Barhi Range & Hazari Dhamna in Chouparan Range. On inspection it was found that the patch of forest in Bero Protected Forest is predominate with Palash and other species like Babul, Shisam, Asan, Dhoutha, Neem, Gamhar etc. In Babul, Shisam, Asan, Dhoutha, Neem, Gamhar are seen and likewise in Khonraahar PF Saal etc are found and the average density is 0.6. The soil along the proposed transmission line is highly vulnerable to soil erosion. It has been recorded that many wild animals including Elephants have been criss crossing the proposed site because of their vicinity to Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary and Gautam Buddha Wildlife Sanctuary. Hence, all precaution should be taken to avoid electrocution of wildlife especially Elephants, so ABC cables Insulated Aerial Bundled Cables / Underground cable should be preferred in the area. In case of overhead transmission line, the height of the transmission line be kept more than the trunk height of the Elephants. Since, the present alignment involves least forest area and also that it would fulfill the energy requirements to the people in the area, the proposal may be recommended.
Chatra SouthChatraDFO RecommendedThe areas of this division is still very poor in terms of power availability to the people. By this project a good network of power transmission shall be formed to make the power feasible to the people for education, medical, business, office works, agriculture, water supply etc. and therefore as this project involves the minimum and the unavoidable forest land, the same is being recommended for diversion in the interest of people and state.
HazaribaghCF RecommendedThe proposal is for diversion of 24.8509 ha. 7.9409 ha. PF and 16.91 ha. GMJJ forest land in Hazaribagh West Forest Division for construction of 132 KV transmission line from Barhi to Itkhori Transmission line. The soil along the proposed transmission line is highly vulnerable to soil erosion. It has been recorded that many wild animals including Elephant have been criss crossing the proposed site because of their vicinity to Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary and Gautam Buddha Wildlife Sanctuary. Hence, all precaution should be taken to avoid electrocution of wildlife especially Elephants, so ABC cables Insulated Aerial Bundled Cables /Underground cable should be preferred in the area. In case of overhead transmission line, the height of the transmission line be kept more than the trunk height of the Elephant. The proposal is meant for construction and development of transmission system and also to mitigate the actual shortage of power due to non availability/inadequate capacity of transmission system in the area. A large number of people will be benefited by this project. In view of the aforesaid facts, this proposal is being recommended for the diversion of 24.8509 ha. Forest Land for construction of 132 KV transmission line from Barhi to Itkhori Transmission line. Yes
ChatraCF RecommendedThe proposal is recommended for approval under the Forest Conservation Act 1980Yes
