The forest area in and around is prone to soil erosion.At frequent intervals, gullies may be seen as the area is not properly stocked with the vegetations.

Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
The area is a regular corridor of Indian Elephants, although not legally or officially notified yet elephants moving from Tundi of Dhanbad district to Dumka district or the adjoining forest areas of West Bangal pass through these areas in rainy or winter season. During their movement, they sometimes stay here even for months. The significance can be understood by the facts that so many times the pregnant female elephants have given birth to calves also.
