Chatra SouthChatraDFO RecommendedThe proposal has been submitted for diversion of 64.0849 Ha of forest land for construction of bypass of NH 99 around Chatra town in Chatra South Forest Division. As, the proposal will help ameliorate the traffic congestion in the town area and will provide sufficient carriage way for the vehicular traffic, the proposal is recommended with mitigative measures.
ChatraCF RecommendedThe proposal has been submitted for diversion of 64.0849 ha. NF – 51.1144 ha. and GMJJ 12.9705 ha. forest land. The Length of proposed bypass road is 14.23 km which starts at point – 42.112 and ends at point 54.701. It passes through the middle of Chatra town, that is why, vehicles coming from different places like Gaya, Hazaribagh, Palamu, Tandwa etc passes through Chatra town. This causes issue of traffic congestion and pollution. Present road cannot be widened due to presence of dense market/building on both sides of the road. Therefore proposal of the construction of Chatra – bypass road is acceptable. Out of 64.0849 ha. forest land, 60.0849 ha. forest land is related to construction of road and its allied activities. One patch of 4 hectare is proposed for development of road side amenities such as hospital, cafeteria, rest room etc. This patch is located on one side of the road and it is not contiguous to road. It is also found that non forest land is available near this proposed road, where above amenities can be developed. Therefore the above patch of 4 hectare forest land is non site – specific and it is not recommended for diversion and only 60.0849 ha. forest land is recommended for diversion. The project is recommended along with conditions of mitigation measures, that is, a site specific Wildlife Management Plan, a Soil Moisture Conservation Plan and protection of 2 small patches of forest land near Chatra town. Yes
