Chatra SouthChatraDFO RecommendedThe proposal has been found to be complete in all respects and nothing has been found to be highly negative against the proposal during the examination and site inspection. The proposal is just and genuine and is recommended.
ChatraCF RecommendedThe proposal is concerned with Construction of Amrapali Railway Siding/ line for eco friendly rail transportation of coal from already operational Amrapali OCP and upcoming Chandragupta OCP. At present Amrapali OCP coal is being transported via 7.5 km. road to Shivpur Railway Siding which is comparatively more environmentally polluting. This proposed railway siding/ line will lessen negative impact on environment, forest and wildlife. Therefore, this Amrapali Railway Siding/ line proposal is necessary and unavoidable. Almost the entire area had moderate slope with some portion being gently sloping. At places, the soil erosion was easily seen. The proposed area towards Tori Shivpur line has seen significant wildlife presence. During the site visit, it was told by the local villagers and the staffs that elephants from Palamu and Hazaribagh side cris crosses 2 3 times in a year. The nature of the project is such that there is going to be habitat fragmentation and destruction. For the facts stated above the proposed diversion is recommended to be accepted with following conditions 1. Site specific Wildlife Management Plan to be prepared in consultation with Forest Department to mitigate the impacts on wildlife and its habitat. 2. Soil and moisture conservation plan will be needed to address soil erosion. 3. Sufficient number of underpasses should be constructed at project cost by the User Agency in consultation with the Forest Department. Yes
