Chatra SouthChatraDFO RecommendedThe proposal is for excavation of coal from the Magadh Coal block. As per the information given in the proposal it appears that the excavated coal shall be supplied to the Thermal Power Plants to generate electricity and cater the commercial and domestic need of the country. The proposal is site specific. The coal is still the main source of fuel of our Thermal Power Plants and in near future, we do not see any alternative to this coal to such extant and quantity. And therefore the proposal is being recommended under the provision of Forest Conservation Act 1980.
