Previously Forest Department Shimla (Urban) area was the part of M.C. Shimla area and Working plan available of 1965. Now this division is under Forest Department the Working Plan of Shimla Forest Division(Urban) is under preparation

As per the working plan the U-174 Badfar has been prescribed Chil working plan, U-190 Sanan & D-82 Kasumpti has been prescribed Bioshpere WC,U-173 Dhalli & D-73 Mashobra has been prescribed as Deo/Kail WC & U-189 Toru has been prescribed as Plantation WC.
