Significance of the forest land proposed for diversion from wildlife point of view
(i).
Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
The area under proposal is very rich in faunal diversity. The area has healthy population of faunal species. Important Schedule-I species of Wildlife Protection act like Chinkara, Caracal, Pangolin, Rusty Spotted Cat, Leopard, Indian Grey Wolf, Honey Badger, Monitor Lizard are using area under the proposal as its natural habitat. Apart from these, other important faunal species like Porcupine, Chameleon, Small Indian Civet, Jackal, Mangoose, Striped Hyaena, Indian Hedgehog, Long Eared Hedgehog, Indian Hare, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Spiny Tailed Lizard, Indian Cobra, Saw Scalled Viper, Royal Snake are present in area under the proposal.

Requirement of forest land as proposed by the user agency is surely avoidable as there is plenty of non forest land is available around the proposed forest land for this project. Apart from this, Kutch district is one of the largest district of the country having 45,674 Sq.Kms of area. The project under proposal can be implemented outside the forest land. There are many existing windmill projects are active in Kutch district without using Forest Land. Forest land mentioned in proposal should not be diverted as there are other options of land available for the project. This proposal of 480.8045ha Forest Land diversion is Not Recommended.
