The area proposed for diversion runs along the various forest roads inside sanctuary. Due to regualr movement of vehicles, area is highly prone to erosion specially along the ghats

Significance of the forest land proposed for diversion from wildlife point of view
(i).
Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
Tiger, leopard, sloth bear, hyena, barking deer, sabar deer, four horned antelope, indian pangolin, wild boar, Langur, rhesus macaque and various avifauna.
(ii).
Whether forms part of national park, wildlife sanctuary, biosphere reserve,tiger reserve, elephant corridor, wildlife migration corridor etc. :

Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas :
The project proposes to lay a network of electricity lines criss-crossing the core area of the sanctuary leading to electrification of around 54 settlements and one religious shrine located inside Kaimur Widlife sanctuary. While the project will provide electricity to the inhabitants of the villages but it will have a devastating impact on the forest in general and wildlife in particular. Apart from increased light and sound pollution in the hitherto undisturbed habitat it will also lead to multiple electrocutions of wild animals falling prey to live wire fencing used by farmers having access to 11 KV power line.
