The construction of Geetanagar –I Reservoir, Transmission main pipelines and access roads through Hengrabari RF would greatly benefit the people of Guwahati City in getting clean drinking water which is essentially required for maintaining hygienic and healthy life. Further, as reported by the Divisional Forest Officer, Kamrup East Division, there is no rare or endangered species of flora and fauna and the site is not part of any protected area and does not include any archeological heritage site or defense establishment. Therefore, the proposed diversion is recommended.
