The proposed 41.747 ha area of forest land for construction of 01 x 400 KV D/C transmission line from Bongaingaon to Nangal Bibra fall under Panchratna RF, Bogulamari PRF, Sagunbasi RF, Rakhsyini PRF of Sadar Range Goalpara and Zangrazangsa RF of Central Range Krishnai in Goalpara Forest Division T , Goalpara is recommended in view of minimum 30 to 35 percent green felling and importance of the development of the nation and especially North east India by improving overall power scenario of the North Eastern region without causing major damage of the forest and environment provided some mitigation measures are taken by the User Agency as per guideline of F.C. Act,1980. On implementation of the proposed project the entire area would be benefited economically and Socially. As the forest area proposed for diversion is unavoidable and barest minimum required for the project, therefore, the diversion of the forest land as above is recommended for acceptance

However, the proposed transmission alignment falling at Bhairab reserve forest which is one of the highest potential habitats of the endangered Golden langur species at Bongaigaon district, Assam. The enumerated 2330 trees to be felled in the proposed transmission line alignment may adversely affect the habitat and survivality of the endangered species as well as it will lead towards scarcity of food source for the primates.
