Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion :
The proposed diversion of forest land for this project falls under 7(seven) nos. of compartments of Gohpur Reserve Forest namely - SER5C5, SER5C6, SER5C7, SER5C8, SER5C9, SER5C10 and SER5C11. The Working Plan has prescribed Joint Forest Management Working Circle in the above mentioned compartments of Gohpur RF.

Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion :
The forest area proposed for diversion has a gentle slope and is not vulnerable to soil erosion.

Incidents of wild elephant depredation in nearby area has been observed.

Details and comments on the impact of Project on such areas :
The proposed forest area for diversion falls inside Gohpur RF which is a part of the Sonitpur Elephant Reserve notified vide No.FRW-44/2002/46. The proposed area is under human habitation and devoid of wild animals except for elephant movement observed during migration of elephants between forest area in Arunachal Pradesh and 6th Addition to Kaziranga National Park.

The improvement and upgradation of Ghagarabasti to Hawajan is aimed at improvement f connectivity to Biswanath District and Lakhimpur District of Assam and Donyi Polo Airport in Arunachal Pradesh. It is an important road connecting various forest villages and FRA villages such as Sonapur, Daimalu, alupara, Simaluguri etc. Therefore, in order to provide connectivity for Donyi Polo Airport and to provide basic road infrastructure to forest villagers and forest rights holders, the diversion of the forest land which is barest minimum required as above is recommended for acceptance.
