Working plan prescription for the forest land proposed for diversion :
Oil India Limited has planned to drill a well for oil/gas exploration. Around 3.87 ha of land has been earmaked for the plinth and 1.73 ha for the 1 km road (15 m width). Target depth : 2400 m.

Brief note on vulnerability of the forest area to erosion :
There is no any river or any water body in the proposed site hence vulnerability of erosion does not arise.

Significance of the forest land proposed for diversion from wildlife point of view
(i).
Details of wildlife present in and around the forest land proposed for diversion :
The drilling location KNEB falls in degraded forest land. Dhansiri-Lungding Elephant Reserve was declared covering Karbi Anglong East, Karbi Anglong West, Dima Hasao (North Cachar) and Nagaon South Forest Divisions vide Assam Government Notification dated 19.11.2003.

The proposed diversion of forest land is 5.6 ha and moderately dense forest areas under Dhansiri Reserve Forest. The location was visited by the undersigned two times 02.08.2021 and 15.11.2021 . During inspection finding of rare /endangered/unique species of flora and fauna were not recorded. Further no archaeological/heritage site/defence establishment or any other monument is located in this area and hence recommended for forest diversion as proposed by the User Agency Oil India Limited through online proposal No. FP/AS/MIN/51724/2020. After seismic survey and geological study Oil India Limited has identified the location KNEB for oil/gas exploration for the interest of the country and hence recommended the forest diversion proposal.
